New EPA rule could mean up to $16,000/day fines if violated

On August 29, 2015, the EPA and USACOE new Clean Water Rule, which seeks to clearly define “Waters of the U.S.” went into effect.  There is great concerns among our clients as to how the rule will affect them.  On August 28, a federal judge in North Dakota temporarily blocked the rule from going into effect in 13 states – not including Texas.  Due to the number of impending lawsuits, it’s uncertain how the final rule will affect land and lake owners.  Here’s a local article from Denton County Farm Bureau President, Tommy Calvert.
